I just returned from a trip to Tucson, Arizona, where I was inspired by the southwestern style. I wrote about Equestrian Style in an earlier post, but this is a much different kind. Here are some of my favorite southwestern-inspired fashion and home design pieces.
1. Derek Lam's entire Fall 2010 Collection was a celebration of this style. Here are the best looks (photos from Style.com):
2. Women in the southwest wear a ton of turquoise jewelry, but it looks just as chic in city. Here are two pieces that have very different looks:
Above, Jose & Maria Barrera turquoise necklace, $715 at Neiman Marcus.
Above, turquoise necklace, $370 at Neiman Marcus.
3. Here are some great additional pieces:
Above, snake print Sawyer dress, $375 at Tory Burch.
Above, Novella Royale suede clutch, $276 on sale at Shopbop.
Above, silver and enamel cuff, $225 at Tory Burch.
Above, Quoddy suede booties, $278 at J.Crew.
4. Incorporating natural and animal-inspired pieces (other than leopard or zebra, as these are African) in your apartment or home is very southwestern. Here are a couple pieces that work:
Above, sheepskin rug, $160 at West Elm.
Above, Staghorn lamp, $285 at Lars Bolander.
Above, Two's Company faux snakeskin trays, $105 for set of 3 at The Home Store.
