I am not normally in the habit of announcing what I want for Christmas (or my birthday, or Valentine's Day, etc.) - it can be tacky, presumptuous, and even insulting - but sometimes people do ask for direction.  I have kept a constantly evolving wishlist on Shopbop's website ever since high school.  It serves as a great tool for someone like my brother, who wants to give me something I'll enjoy but may not know where to start.  He can look up my wishlist in the same way that you would look up someone's registry.  Everyone wins in the end - I receive something that I love, and the gift-giver doesn't have to waste his time.  Here are some of the Shopbop items that are at the top of my list right now...

Lonny

It broke my heart when Domino magazine folded.  I loved the editors' style and the accessibility - I am an avid reader of many design magazines, but Domino always seemed the most relevant to a young woman living in New York City.  Their images were inspiring, and their tips and suggestions were ones that I could immediately apply to my own design scheme.  

As I'm sure you've read by now (there's an article in VF's December issue), a few former Domino staffers started an online magazine called Lonny.  The second issue is coming out this month, so be on the lookout - you can find it at lonnymag.com.

(Online) Holiday Shopping

                      

The holiday shopping frenzy is officially upon us.  I like to get mine done as early as possible so I'm not scrambling at the last minute, but the crowds can be so horrible in December that I usually do most of it online.   

Wardrobe-wise, I would have never made it through college (which was right smack in the middle of a cornfield) if it were not for online shopping - so I became somewhat of an expert many years ago.  Here are my favorite online boutiques and a standout (or two) gift example from each...
