Saturday night, I ate at restauranteur Danny Meyer's newly opened Maialino Restuarant in the Gramercy Park Hotel. The name, which means "little pig" in Italian, has to do with Meyer's nickname when he was younger - but it also signifies what it turns you into when you dine there. I ate no less than 6 delicious Roman courses, and each one was more amazing than the last. The Malfatti al Maialino (a light pasta dish with suckling pig) was perfect - the pasta al dente, the pork tender, the arugula and parmesan adding just the right amount of flavor and texture.
Next time it's your turn to pick a restaurant for either girls' night or date night, I highly urge you to choose Maialino. Here is my suggested menu...
